Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates
The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been rampant.
The first season presents a large cast of characters residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.
The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator commented recently. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.
That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.
"I've come across a couple people create a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on October 29.
